AI solutions architect vs. AI engineer, when do I need which? +
An AI engineer builds the system. An AI solutions architect designs it. For simple integrations, the engineer can do both. For complex systems, multi-agent architectures, enterprise data integrations, or systems that need to scale reliably, architecture design before build prevents the technical debt that makes AI systems brittle and expensive to maintain. I do both, sequentially.
